Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
No favorites:
Does God like some people more than others? A respecter is one who show partiality; like showing favoritism. Are there people God does not want to go to heaven? No, God wants everyone to repent and be saved (2 Pet 3:9). Why do some people seem to have it better than others? God interacts with us according to our abilities and relation to Him. (Psa 34:15-18; Isa 57:15; 66:2). God gives us talents and abilities according to our make up as humans (1 Cor 12:7-11; Matt 25:15; Lu 19:13).
Jesus’ disciples:
How many disciples did Jesus have? Lu 10:1, 9; Matt 13: Mk 3:13-15. There were many who followed Jesus at first and were His disciples (a disciple is one who is Christian). When Jesus taught them doctrine of being faithful and following to the end many departed and did not follow any more (Jn 5:53-71).
Did Jesus have favorites?
Jesus calls all to Him Matt 11:28 and all who come to Him in repentance and surrender to Him, He saves and then He uses them as He wants to. He gives gifts, talents, abilities and callings according to His purposes. Matt 17:1; Mk 5:37; Lu 8:51; Mk 14:32-33. God does not love or respect some more than others, but He has special assignments for some. Our callings to occupation, service, marital status (Matt 19:12) and many other things are open to us, but we should always seek God and allow Him to guide. God often calls people into special service in or out of the church and He does so according to our willingness and abilities
