Life is precious

“Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; 25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish; 26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers.”

Since the ruling of the Supreme Court in Roe verses Wade, over 61 million unborn babies have been killed through the “legalized” practice of abortion. The numbers are probably higher than that since the 2011 World Almanac reporting through 2006 indicates that California and New Hampshire do not report abortions and there are yearly usually one or two other states that also do not report the number of abortions performed. How many doctors, teachers, preachers, mothers and fathers have been aborted we’ll only know in eternity, but the problem exists in spite of any call for stopping this whole sale murder of innocent babies.

God is the Creator of all life and He has given us guidelines concerning the taking of life. He makes the difference between premeditated murder and accidental killing. He has set forth the punishment for murder after the flood – “ . . . surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.” Since man is made in the image of God, He requires that anyone – man or animal – that murders a human (in the case of animals an animal that kills a human) – must pay with their own life.

The lie that those who favor or promote abortion tell us is that there is no life until after birth and the baby can survive on its own. This lie is propagated to unknowing and ill-informed women and young girls. Women have been exploited by those who promote this practice because the enemy of God and our souls has influenced them in the distant and recent past.

The Bible speaks strongly about shedding innocent blood – “Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another. . .” Numerous people killed their babies by laying them in the red hot arms of an idol to their false god. People today will try to say that they do not do that, they are civilized and honor the rights of women. But in actuality they are worshipping the god of lust. How many of those abortions are out of convenience or to eliminate an unwanted baby (God says children are His heritage to us). Men and women, teenagers alike are living lustful and immoral lives and now they find their sin is revealed in a pregnancy and so they destroy the evidence of their worshipping the god of lust and immoral living. Teenage girls do not even have to get parental consent to have an abortion in most cases and so they think they have hidden their sinfulness. In times past they laid their babies on the burning arms of an idol and worshipped their gods while the babies sizzled to death. Today the cry of the babies is silent, but still audible to God. After Cain killed Abel God said, “You brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.”  The blood of millions of innocent children is crying out to God and He has recorded it all in His book He keeps of our lives.

God gave Cain the opportunity to repent and He would have mercy and grace upon him, but Cain turned and went out from the presence of the Lord. Unfortunately, the government run abortion clinics deny this potential life-changing grace to their victims (the women) and turn them in their problems, anxieties and emotional trauma to “yes-men” doctors who try to numb them into silence with medications and therapy from ungodly psychiatrists who try to tell them they only eliminated an “blob” of unwanted and unhealthy tissue from their bodies.

The church as failed to send out the message of grace to these women who have been “used” by the abortion providers. The church has also failed to take a strong stand against this ungodly practice and have instead tried to ignore it. Both actions and lack thereof will invoke the judgment of God. May this year be a fruitful year for those who take their stand for and with God against this evil.
