Feasts and prophecy

Acts 2:1-4   And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. {2}  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. {3}  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. {4}  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Key number in Scripture:

Numbers are important in Scripture and seven may be a key one regarding prophetic events. There are seven feast of the Lord -- Passover, Unleavened Bread, Feast of First Fruits, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Feast of Tabernacles. The Sabbath is the seventh day; every seventh year is a rest for the land; there are seven sevens (year of Jubilee); and seventy sevens (Dan 9:24).  The Book of Revelation has seven churches, seven seals, seven trumpets and seven vial judgments. The golden candle stick has seven lights on it, God's word is purified seven times (Psa 13:6) and numerous other occasions of seven throughout Scripture.

The root word for seven is savah and means: "to be full, satisfied, to have enough of". So the root meaning would carry through in the word seven.

Seven feasts may be prophetic:

The seven feasts are grouped in four and then three, separated by a four month interval period.  The first feast is the Passover celebrated on the 14th is Nisan (our April). Second is the Feast of Unleavened Bread, then the Feast of First Fruits. After a period of seven weeks, on the fiftieth day is the Feast of Pentecost. All of these relate to God's work in the day of grace. Then there is an interval period between these four and the next three.

The next three are in the seventh month which associates with our September or October. These three are: the Trumpet feast, the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles. These three seem to relate to end time beginning with the Feast of Trumpets, which would be in September/October time era.

It is an interesting sequence considering how God has previously worked in the first four feasts and the coming of Christ, His death, resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Could this be the year of the Trump of God? (1 Thes 4:16; 1 Cor 15:52).

We do not set dates and definitely do not set a time of year since Jesus said we cannot know the day or hour of His coming. If some were to believe that Jesus would not come until October or November time frame, many would not live prepared during the rest of the year. Jesus told us to “watch and be ready” for we do not know in what hour our Lord is coming. It behooves us all to live each day s if this were our last day on earth.
