Another Jesus

(2 Cor 11:1-4)  Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. {2} For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. {3} But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. {4} For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

The Jesus of most T-shirts, bumper stickers or other “showy” things is not the Jesus of the Bible. The Baby Jesus in the manger at Christmas time or the “buddy” Jesus of Nashville singers, or the “success-counseling Jesus of prosperity/positive preachers. The popular Jesus may be the romantic Jesus of the Christian crooners, the rhythmic Jesus of Christian rock, or the reforming Jesus of liberals. But none of these are the real Jesus preached by Paul Who saves people from their sin.

Paul warns not to follow a personable person just because he preaches Jesus and encourages you to “receive the Spirit”. When Paul says the “simplicity” that is in Christ, he is meaning that it is the singleness that is in Christ. There is no other way and no other Gospel.

Jesus is popular among politicians, performers (actors) and anyone else that can use His name to their advantage. Jesus warned that many would cone in his name (Matt 24:5) and claiming to be Christ, but not to believe them. Paul said that if any preach another Christ or gospel let them be accursed (Gal 1:6-9).

He is the Lord Jesus Christ, the offended Creator of all (Col 1:16-17). He is Jehovah God, Who spoke the world into existence. He is the Holy One (Mk 1:23-24); His main quality is Holiness and when He is referred to whether in healing or other things, Holy is mentioned (Acts 4:27, 30; 3:14; 1 Jn 2:20). In the OT Isaiah referred to God as the Holy One and after the birth of Christ, Christ is referred to as the Holy One. Holy means absolutely free from moral defilement or defect. (Heb 7:26)  For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; (1 Pet 2:22)  Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

(1 John 3:5)  And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

He is the Redeemer of mankind (Col 1:14, 20; Tit 2:14). He died to give his life a ransom for lost mankind (Matt 20:28) and then He died on the cross and rose victorious over death.

      He is the coming Judge (2 Tim 4:1; Ro 2:16; 2 Cor 5:10; 2 Thes 1:7-10).

Wrong theology is rampant in the church and clergy and many are being led astray from the true Christ to a false one, who will prepare many to be deceived by the coming one-world ruler. In his book The go-Between God by Bishop J.V. Taylor., he says “It does not matter whether the Christ who fills our vision is the historical Jesus, or the living Savior, or the Christ of the Body and Blood, or the Logos and Lord of the Universe, or the Christ in my neighbor and his poor. These are only aspects of his being. In whatever aspect He is most real to us, what matters is that we adore Him.”

Wrong theology about Christ has produced false religions – Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Hinduism, Unity Christian Science, and etc. These all make their own Jesus how they want that fits their ideas. It is not the Jesus of the Bible nor is it the Jesus of reality. Don’t be fooled – Jesus warned this would be prevalent in the last days (Mat 24:3-4)  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? {4} And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
